Please see the parking information below. Each applicant will receive a personalized folder at check-in with their schedule. All required appointments have been scheduled for you along with a warm-up time and space. Auditions will start after the morning information session and will run for each studio until all applicants have been heard by a panel of faculty. Some studios will run auditions all day so we recommend the latest flight out of Miami possible. Check here to make sure you are prepared with the required repertoire. Applicants must perform all requirements for their instrument. Each applicant will be assigned a practice room and time in the Foster building. Monitors will check the applicant's schedule prior to entering the building. Tours of the music quad will be offered at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. We cannot make a decision on your application if your file is incomplete, even if you auditioned. Incomplete applications will be withdrawn by the university after our meeting to finalize decisions. Please check your UM Applicant Portal regularly to track your application and document status. Do not ignore incomplete items listed on your applicant portal. Admission into the Frost School of Music as an undergraduate applicant is a joint decision by Frost and the UM Office of Undergraduate Admission. We employ a holistic review that considers both the music evaluation and your application and supporting documents. Historically, competitive applicants to the Frost School of Music have an A/B average in core academic subject areas (such as English, Math, Science, Social Sciences, and Foreign Language). You may view the First-Year Class Profile to see last year's overall admitted student profile. ACT/SAT scores are optional. The airport closest to campus is Miami International Airport (MIA) and is about a 25-minute ride from campus. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is further north and is about an hour from campus. Free parking on campus will been arranged for you. Artist, vocalist, and composer Michael Mayo takes to the stage this Friday, February 16. He presents a solo set accompanied by our Frost Extensions rhythm section and a set with our Frost Jazz Vocal Ensembles, led by Frost professor Kate Reid. Hailing from Los Angeles but embracing the spirit of New York, Mayo is a renowned vocalist seamlessly blending alternative and neo-soul elements, creating a distinctive fusion that transcends genres. This concert is also part of our Spring 2024 Windowcast schedule. You can watch this concert at the Knight Center for Music Innovation Plaza in HD Audio and Video from our 20x40-foot Windowcast system.
