Graduate Prescreen/Audition, Portfolio, and Supplemental Program Requirements

Audition for Fall 2024 are now closed. Please check back in late summer for our Fall 2025 audition dates.

Auditions for Fall 2025 will be held in person. Confirmation emails will be sent in early 2025 with additional details about the audition format and schedule. Recorded auditions are acceptable for some areas, but an on-campus audition is strongly encouraged. All applicants who wish to be considered for assistantships or scholarships should audition on-campus. 

Some areas of the Frost School of Music (composition, conducting, jazz, music education, music therapy, musicology) schedule their own auditions/interviews, and applicants will be contacted by faculty to arrange those. 

• Guidelines

  • Prescreening and portfolios will not be reviewed by faculty until all application materials and applicable fees are received
  • Faculty will review the prescreening submissions and an invitation to audition will be extended to selected applicants
  • Do not make travel plans until you receive that audition confirmation
  • Prescreening submissions will be accepted online only - upload here
  • All prescreening submissions should include both audio and video
