Undergraduate applicants to the Media Scoring & Production program at the Frost School of Music must follow the audition requirements for their primary instrument/voice in one of the following genres: Contemporary, Jazz, or Classical. All instruments/genres require a prescreening video be uploaded along with the application before an audition is granted. Please check the requirements for your specific instrument/voice by using the clickable links on the left-hand menu.

In addition, Media Scoring & Production applicants must submit a portfolio of their compositions. Upload your portfolio files along with your required prescreen videos for your instrument/voice with your Frost supplemental application.

The Early Action submission deadline is November 1 and the Regular Decision deadline is December 1. 

Please choose up to two of the options below to upload along with your Frost application:

  • Upload representative samples of three to five music scores that you have composed in .pdf format, including audio and/or audiovisual material (in .mov, .wmv. .wav, or .mp3 format). Audio MIDI realizations are acceptable, while real audio is preferred. Scores should be original works.
  • Upload representative samples of three to five tracks produced exclusively by you, including a detailed explanation of DAW/software used, and how you mixed each track.
  • Arrangements of existing compositions and/or songs (vocal or instrumental) will be considered only if notated scores and audio files of arrangements are included.
